Originating in the South American Andes, llamas are relatives of the camel and eat plants and grasses.

They have a thick, white coat which produces wonderfully soft, warm, and hypoallergenic wool.

Considered bad-tempered for their spitting habit – which is normally aimed at rivals within their herd (to establish pecking order) – they are actually gentle and friendly towards people.
